The Rebirth of Cannonau: Sardegna’s Nod to Grenache

Cannonau di Sardegna is a red wine produced in Sardinia, a small island off the coast of Italy, made from what local’s call Grenache, “Cannonau.”  What many people don’t know is that Cannonau may have actually originated from Sardinia, a recent discovery by Italian researches studying the history of Sardinia and the conquering of the island of the Aragonese in the 14th Century.
